Mike, Do you think like me that these "trusts" are fucking pointless and cause issues when it comes to funding, recruitment etc?

Re: NHS 3% Pay rise - Thoughts?
Apart from diversity box-ticking ensuring that the NHS can never build a team anywhere of "the best people for the job", "foreigners" have insidiously wormed there way into positions where they dictate employment policy and, unsurprisingly, the only people available to fill any posts are "foreigners" of the same flavour as the employer.

Many don't even bother looking for locals as they know ticking the diversity box will allow them to fly in someone from halfway around the world to fill the post.

Trust Directors don't involve themselves in such decisions as it's way too far beneath their station; they'd much rather have an easy life and boast about how "inclusive" their Trust is.

FCJ - the NHS last year raised so much fucking money from charitable work from the likes of Sir Tom, where has that money gone?

My bet is in the back pockets of the pricks at the top, who are a world away from being on the "shop floor" and seeing things in the real world.

Getting a bit bored of anything spoken about re the NHS, it's being spoken of as some sort of institutional god, it isn't - it's actually pretty shit and has been for my life time.

Re: NHS 3% Pay rise - Thoughts?
Pay rise is derisory. Given the billions wasted and given away to tory mates companies during the pandemic, this really is a joke. The whole pay and grading system needs a huge review.
Of course the NHS needs massive reform and is trying to do too much, is now outsourcing so much to private firms who pay people better and charge silly fees. PFI stuffed the system. Approved suppliers and pharma rip off the trusts.

The specialist hospitals we have are generally really something to be proud of and attract a lot of donations but many of the others really struggle. Morale is low, many of the wards are held together by large numbers of 'bank' staff who have little responsibility or real desire to change it. Some of the care I've witnessed is shocking and it's lottery as to whether you find the really decent caring people amongst the inept.

I can only see it going to an American system here and it will be eventually closed off to the poor.

Re: NHS 3% Pay rise - Thoughts?
It's bullshit, whilst people talk about how foreigners "hold up" the NHS, the issues I've ever had and the family have had are from the same foreigners.

Now, I'm sure people will call me racist blah blah, it's not that at all. The majority of the UK population are sympathetic people towards particularly the elderly, it's a cultural thing which these foreigners don't really understand so are a lot more brash with their approach.

It's clear that assumption making, rather than thinking, is by far your better attribute, vexed.

Maybe you should just stick to the comfort blanket of the former and leave the latter to those equipped to better handle it.

Cheers Block son. No didn't take it any further, she was in a pretty bad way when she got there and it was always quite likely she wouldn't make a recovery but I was alarmed at some of the things that went on and some of the things that were said at her bedside when she could still hear everything going on but couldn't respond. In the old days they called it a bedside manner, dignity for the patient I don't think they teach that shit anymore. To be fair the excellent nurses efforts outweighed the fucking useless majority and we were all really grateful for their efforts. But there was some proper stupid shit going on whenever they weren't around.

I'm sorry to hear that. I have recently had a very similar experience with one of my grandparents. Sadly they didn't make it through the experience. There were a couple of excellent nurses but if they were off duty you had no idea what was going to happen, it was very concerning.

Totally agree.

My grandad has been in hospital for the last 3 months, and since he's been in there he's had 3 falls which has all resulted in bleeds on his brain.

For context, my grandad can literally cannot walk - he needed a piss so they got him in a wheel chair and literally just left him by the toilet door to go in himself, he then proceeded to stand up and then fall over smashing his face on the toilet, this has caused a severe issue on his brain which has resulted in his speech being slurred.

Old man has started legal proceedings of medical negligence.

Upgrade the carers wages in homes before you upgrade any of the N.H.s staff .

Large parts of the private sector were sacrificed to save the NHS. I know loads who had to take 25% or more pay cuts. Fuck em

I can't see a problem with that? People in the private sector taking paycuts in extreme times is nothing new, but being paid 80% of what's left to sit on their arse is unprecedented.

They'll probably want paying out due to the effects of long covid as well, but ask them to pay a bit more tax to help the recovery and they'll soon be whining.

Having spent a few days up the hospital this week (visiting thankfully) I can honestly say they were mostly fucking USELESS and about one in ten of these cunts are worth anything other than a massive pay cut.

I previously thought they were better than this. The reality is the vast majority are fucking useless. I no longer think a blanket payrise is appropriate. Reward the good ones well. Fuck the others, the krill of the NHS. Especially fuck the GPs. Fucking lazy scum.

A lot of old colleagues within the Estate Agency sector had to take 20% pay cuts too.

Massive public sector arguments are coming.

Police are disgusted at the fact they've had their pay frozen which has sparked a no confidence vote in patel.

the same cunts who arrested people for having a coffee during the pandemic, allowed protests in london around blm to go out of control and took the knee in front of them as well?

Cunts don't deserve a penny.

The Tories have always spent less on the NHS, anything to give the Proles a good kicking.
